You know the hat -- knit a long sausage, flip the bottom into the top, then fold the brim. It's my personal favorite style of hat to knit and to wear! I wrote this pattern so that it can be knit for any sized head, with nearly any weight yarn (up to a worsted/aran weight), no swatching needed. It's a perfect blank canvas pattern to either knit a vanilla beanie, or add your own special details with varying stitch patterns or yarn colors. (The last three photos show samples knit in aran, DK, and fingering weight yarns.)
The zine unfolds to show the hat sausage with simple directions for knitting it from top to bottom. Just pick your yarn and start knitting! After you've knit about a 3 inch circle, you'll pause to fill out a little worksheet on the back.
The back of zine walks you through the math of calculating how many stitches per round you'll need to fit your head, based on your gauge at the start of the project. It's a super easy and super cute little worksheet, and I promise you'll love it even if you hate math.
